League’s "Mini" Newsletter Sept 4th, 2001
September 8 is Pheasant Day Pickup for those members who have worked on League-sanctioned projects for fifteen hours or more. If your not sure of your hours, YOU can contact Ron Brinkmann at 437-5477. Birds can be picked up beginning at 8:00 AM on a first come - first served basis. Eight roosters and seven hens will he the allotment. It has been a good year for our birds. Work hours at the Farm will continue until the first weekend in October.
Our first membership meeting for 2001-2002 is set for 7:30 PM, September 25 at the VFW Hall, 133 L. Lakeside, Madison. Our local conservation wardens will discuss recent rule changes and Scot Stewart will discuss the new muskie limits for Madison lakes. The primary raffle prizes that evening will be a great shotgun and rod and reel combo.
This has been a great year for the League with many activities going on during the year with the most recent ones being a successful Golf Outing chaired by Keith and Linda Waier. Open House that fed over seventy people, and a Lunker Structure Building Day. Thanks to John Meier for furnishing the corn for the open house and Tim Thompson for the table and chairs.
Boat and camper winter storage space is available for those interested members. Space will rent for $125 and the term run. Mid-October to mid-April. We have always been full, so if interested contact Dwaine Rundle at 276-9427.
By the way, birds are also for sale at $8 00 for roosters and $7.00 for hens. A few quail may still be available too. See you at pickup day or the September 25 membership meeting.
